The mission of the Shiner Heritage Quilters is to promote the appreciation of quilt making and related needle arts, to offer opportunities to educate members and the community in traditional and contemporary quilting techniques, to preserve the heritage of quilting through interaction with community members, and to provide a supportive, positive atmosphere for the sharing of knowledge and ideas.
Shiner Heritage Quilters was formed in March 2002 by a group of women who had met monthly to learn quilting skills. The name was chosen to reflect the desire to preserve and honor the art of quilting that was passed down through generations. Since that time, the guild has grown in numbers, participated in many activities, and sponsored multiple quilt shows, and donated to various community organizations.
Shiner Heritage Quilters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The guild meets at 5:00 pm for "social time" and the meeting starts at 5:30 pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the First United Methodist Church, Shiner, TX. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Click here for a map.
